Whose side are you on?

prophets
President Ezra Taft Benson, Ensign Sept. 1988, p2
“ There has never been more expected of the faithful in such a short period of time than there is of us. Never before on the face of this earth have the forces of evil and the forces of good been so well organized.
Now is the great day of the Devils power. But now is also the great day of the Lord’s power….
Each day the forces of evil and the forces of good enlist new recruits. Each day we personally make many decisions showing the cause we support. The final outcome is certain- the forces of righteousness will win. But what remains to be seen is where each of us personally, now and in the future, will stand in this battle…… and how tall we will stand.
We will never have a better opportunity to be valiant in a more crucial cause than in the battle we face today… Christ .. is the most successful warrior that ever walked the earth, and He wants to help us win every battle.”  end quote
With that being said, and it is so incredibly touching and beautiful, who’s side will you be on? What will you teach your children to help them make the decisions daily that will help them be on the righteous side?
mother daughter jesus
We must work hard. We must not be lazy! We must make good decisions daily and help and teach our children to do the same! Who is with me??

Making the Scriptures COME ALIVE!!!!

scriptures 2

While doing scripture study with my children yesterday they really started asking some important questions, ones that I knew I needed to study up on before I answered! Talk about shock! Defintely made me want to “feast upon my scriptures” more! I’ve always been big into reading my scriptures daily. Now I try to make sure that my kids even though they are still young, in some people’s eyes, read at least two verses or more a night, so that they can establish a good habit. Now, how can I make those precious scriptures really come alive for them?? I have found some amazing resources online from some of my favorite sites, and I need your help! Let me know what you guys do! I can’t wait to get started! As Elder Robert D. Hales states “ Read the scriptures together . I remember my own mother and father reading the scriptures as we children sat on the floor and listened. sometimes they would ask, ‘ What does that scripture mean to you?’ or ‘ How does it make you feel?’ Then they would listen to us as we responded in our own words. “

Ok, here is some of the things I’ve found…. I love these sites!! You should visit them often!

Labor Day!

smores

So what do you guys do for Labor Day? Our family decided to camp out in the front yard! Then we found out it was going to be like 40 degrees!! So we came in, but had smore’s and Ohio’s best Amish-made trail bologna and swiss cheese!! ( I grew up in Ohio next to Holmes County which is one of the biggest group of Amish people! I loved it! I love teaching and sharing about it with my children and teaching them a little Pennsylvania Dutch :) So my cousins came from Ohio, and they brought us a bunch of Amish goodies, and so we ate our dinner, ate our smore’s, read a little bit in our big tents, then started shivering and wimped out! The kids are inside in their cozy beds and me and Keith are going to stay out on the porch and chit chat a bit longer then head to bed. Tomorrow we are hoping to go to Nauvoo. We live an hour away. We are soooo lucky! I will take a lot of pictures if we go and post them here. I don’t really have a specific Labor Day theme for this blog, but I will say this…… If you have the day off- spend it with your kids!
