Small and Simple Things ~ Music in the Home

We are almost finished with the Small and Simple Things Series! As a quick reminder, we are going off of the quote from Elder L. Tom Perry that is HERE . Today's post is on the "One Song" part ;)

In D&C Chapter 25 verses 10-11 it states : " For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads. "

There is no doubt about it, music can set the tone for your entire day. Starting the day with uplifting, beautiful music makes you feel like smiling and dancing! When it is time to quiet down, or to ponder things , a sacred hymn can set the tone for reverence. Elder Enrique R. Falabella taught us in General Conference April 2013 that " A child who sings is a happy child" . He continued by stating that , " The Savior understood the importance of sacred music. After He observed Passover with his disciples, the Scriptures relate, ' And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives' . "

Ayearoffhe.blogspot.com has a wonderful FHE on the importance of appreciating music - you can find it HERE
